Electra宣布于2022年九月在弗吉尼亚州马纳萨斯地区机场完成了新太阳能电池混合电子研究无人机系统(UAS)的首飞。

Electra.aero, Inc. has announced the completion of the first flight of its new solar-battery hybrid electric research Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) from Manassas Regional Airport, Virginia in September, 2022. 

该翼展90英尺的无人机系统,又名Dawn One,是Electra在弗吉尼亚州新开发工厂产出的首架飞机,是平流层机载气候观测系统(SACOS)项目的一部分,该项目由哈佛大学詹姆斯·安德森教授领导,获得NASA和Weld科学与环境发展基金会。

The 90-foot wingspan UAS, named Dawn One, is the first airplane to emerge from Electra’s new development facility in Virginia. It is part of the Stratospheric Airborne Climate Observatory System (SACOS) program being developed under the leadership of ProfessorJames G. Anderson at Harvard University. The project is supported by a contract from NASA and by the Weld Foundation for Scientific and Environmental Development.

“SACOS is designed to innovatively address a broad range of scientific missions and serve as a climate observing system that will herald a new era in the quantitative dissection of the physics, chemistry and biology controlling critical climate systems. Following the lead of the new National Academy of Sciences reportGlobal Change Research Needs and Opportunities for 2022-2031, SACOS promises to dramatically expand our national climate research capabilities,” said Professor Anderson. “The high-spatial resolution observations from SACOS will provide, for the first time, quantitative forecasts of risk associated with rapidly expanding wildfires, the increasing rate of sea level rise, the intensification of severe storms, and global shifts in arid regions that trigger water shortages. Moreover, these quantitative forecasts of risk will, in turn, establish the essential intellectual links directly coupling irreversible changes in the climate structure to economics, public policy, and associated societal instability.”

H3 Dynamics and ARO are partnering to enable 24/7 support for nationwide (US) installations of H3 Dynamics’ DBX-G7 autonomous drone-in-a-box systems.

Designed by H3 Dynamics, DBX-G7 is an advanced stationary field robot that functions like an onsite drone pilot, covering all operations from navigation, to docking, battery charging, data retrieval, transmission, and cloud-based processing, fully autonomously.

DBX-G7 is drone-agnostic, meaning it can support different drone models and payload options, enabling the full suite of use cases enabled by today’s drone services industry through a single cloud portal.
